Salon Policies

1. Length / Thickness Fee

   Services may have a £25–£175 length/thickness fee, depending on time and product usage. For an accurate quote, send us photos of your current hair, your inspiration and your colour history for the past 3 years.

2. Patch Tests

   All colour services require a patch test to check for allergies before your appointment.

3. Hair Preparation

   Please arrive with clean, completely dry hair, free from oils and heavy styling products. If your hair needs to be washed and blow-dried before your service, an additional £50 fee will apply to cover the extra time.

4. Clothing

   Please wear clothing you do not mind getting stained. We take care when carrying out services, but colour products may cause permanent marks.

5. Additional Guests

   Please attend your appointment alone unless you require someone to accompany you. If you need to bring someone, please inform us in advance.

6. Late Arrivals

   The first 10 minutes are permitted without charge. After this, a £5 late fee will apply for every additional five minutes. Significant delays may affect your appointment and the service we are able to provide.

7. Colour Corrections

   Any existing colour in your hair that was not applied by Hair by Nour will be classed as a colour correction when booking a lightening service. This includes box dye, professional salon colour and colour applied by another stylist. Please read and agree to the Colour Correction Policy before booking.

8. Deposits & Cancellations

   A £100 deposit is required to secure your appointment. This will be deducted from the final service price.

   Cancellations made within 3 days of your appointment, including same-day cancellations and failure to attend, will result in the deposit being retained to cover losses arising from the cancellation. Exceptions will be considered in the event of a serious emergency.

   Appointments rescheduled with at least 3 days’ notice may transfer their deposit to a new appointment. Any deposit retained will be proportionate to the loss incurred and subject to your statutory rights.

   If the salon needs to cancel your appointment, your deposit will be refunded in full or transferred to a new appointment at your request.

9. Agreement to Salon Policies

   By booking an appointment, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to all salon policies. These policies do not affect your statutory consumer rights.

Colour Correction Policy

1. When a Colour Correction Applies

   Any existing colour in your hair that was not applied by Hair by Nour will be classed as a colour correction when booking a lightening service. This includes box dye, professional salon colour and colour applied by another stylist.

2. Fees & Quotes

   Colour correction fees start from £50 and go up to £250. The fee is based on the complexity of the work, hair length and thickness, previous colour applications and the level of correction required. For a quote on the colour correction fee, please DM us:

   • Your full hair colour and chemical treatment history for the past four years.
   • Clear photographs of your current hair.
   • Inspiration photographs showing your desired result.

   An online quote is an estimate until your hair has been assessed. A consultation and strand test are recommended for an accurate understanding of the cost, expected results and number of sessions required.

3. Consultation & Strand Test

   Before booking an intensive colour correction, we strongly recommend a consultation and two strand tests. The strand tests assess how your hair responds to lightening. During the consultation, we will discuss:

   • Your desired result and whether it is realistically achievable.
   • The condition and integrity of your hair.
   • Potential risks and limitations.
   • The estimated cost of your colour correction.
   • The likely number of appointments required.

   This helps us create a realistic plan before proceeding with your colour correction. The consultation and two strand tests cost £45.

4. Hair History Disclosure

   You are responsible for disclosing your complete hair colour and chemical treatment history for the past four years, including:

   • Box dye and professional salon colour.
   • Bleach and previous lightening services.
   • Henna and colour removers.
   • Keratin treatments and other chemical treatments.

   Previous products can remain in the hair even when they are no longer visible. Undisclosed history may affect how your hair responds to lightening, the products and processing methods required, and the final result. Hair by Nour cannot guarantee results where relevant hair history has not been disclosed.

5. Hair Health & Integrity

   The health and integrity of your hair will always take priority over your desired colour result. Not every inspiration photograph will be achievable in one appointment, or at all, depending on your hair history and current condition. Your colour plan will be based on what your hair can safely tolerate, and your service may need to be adjusted accordingly.

6. Results & Maintenance

   Colour correction results vary depending on your hair history, existing colour, condition and response to lightening. An exact shade or result cannot be guaranteed. Please be aware that:

   • Multiple appointments may be needed to achieve your desired result.
   • Additional toning or maintenance appointments may be required.
   • A haircut may be recommended to maintain the condition of your hair.
   • Your final result may differ from your inspiration photographs.

   Our priority is to achieve the best possible result while protecting the integrity of your hair.

   Box dye

   Box dyes can weaken hair when lightened, so lifting may need to be limited to protect its health. Black or red box dye may take several sessions.

   Previously lightened hair

   Previously lightened areas need extra care to avoid overlapping and causing breakage.

   Dark salon colour

   Dark salon colours such as black, brown or red can be difficult to lift. Results depend on your hair history and condition.

   Compromised / damaged hair

   Damaged hair may not be suitable for lightening. Hair health comes first, so your stylist may recommend avoiding or adjusting the service.

7. Acceptance of This Policy

   By booking a colour correction with Hair by Nour, you confirm that you have read and understood this policy and agree to disclose your complete hair history.
